Our Place community context mapping toolkit

English Heritage are funding a new project to develop a context mapping toolkit for local communities. In partnership with local groups and urban design specialists, Context 4D, City Design Group will be developing the toolkit through a series of mapping workshops across Bristol.

We've added a new layer to Know Your Place. It comes courtesy of English Heritage from their collection of RAF aerial photographs. There are thousands of these images in their collections and we have tried to create a single layer from one RAF flight in 1946.

Know Your Bristol booklet

Between March and July 2012, Know Your Place and City Design Group were partners with the University of Bristol on a project called Know Your Bristol. The project was funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council and involved seven road shows at a variety of community venues across Bristol; Hillfields, the zoo, Arnos Vale, Knowle, Kings Weston, Lockleaze and M Shed.
