Plastic film is now in place, and it doesn't look as bad as I thought it would. Windows are much less draughty. Think this is going to make a real difference to the temperature and comfort of the living room. For info, B&Q sell film for smaller windows, but I had to go to Clifton Hardware for film large enough for my sash windows. This is definitely a two person job.

I'm putting plastic film (from B&Q) across my large sash windows this weekend - hopefully it will make my living room a bit warmer over the winter, and then I can take the film down in the Spring
